It was (dare I say) chilly last night in Santa Monica! Post Easter-feast, we decided to take our Son to see his first little film (at the theaterrrrrrrr! *Oprah voice*) last night. We’ve been waiting 5+ years! …and it was so charming! Plus, our film selection did not disappoint. Ordinarily, I’m not necessarily one to frequent the theater. Namely due to crowds, “athleisure”, and junk food. One could safely assume, it’s just not my thing. …but last night was dreamy. Once the “action film” crowd were hearded into their seats, there was something sweet (and nostalgic) about the mood of the lobby. The velvet ropes, the scent of popcorn… …the muffled sound of films in progress.
*Our theater was half-full. …our seats, comfortable.
Through the glare of the screen I quietly gazed at my 3D frame-rocking family, and couldn’t help but think, this is “one of those times”. …you know those moments. It was one of those moments that you just knew would hold up through the years. …and remain as vivid as the day it occurred. *sigh*
I can’t wait to hear my future 30 year old son, recall the first time he attended theater with his Mom and Dad. …and what that meant to him. …as it meant the world to me.
Cheers to memories! …and to family.
